vintage scandinavian bracelet tapio wirrkala earrings anton michelsen porcelain necklace arbutus berries

A lovely bunch of Arbutus Tree berries which are colouring the West Coast at the moment.

November is upon us! Lots of new arrivals being added on Hopea over the next few weeks, including these lovely finds:

1 / Haglund Studio Sweden bracelet from 1945.

2 / Rare Tapio Wirkkala “Crescent Moon” earrings from Finland, 1972.

3 / Anton Michelsen gilded gold porcelain pendant from the “Royal Bini” collection of 1968.

Hello again! Aside from having to neglect my blog, it was simply wonderful being in Vancouver for the past week. Hopea’s holiday trunk show at Inform Interiors was a decided success. Working from home has its downsides (including that creeping feeling of isolation) which is why it was incredibly energizing to meet so many great people over the course of the show. Now back in Calgary with my collection lightened, I will be working hard this week to make Hopea’s main site look like less of a sale rack! There are still some lovely new pieces available:

Alton Vintage Scandinavian Ring Coming soon – Alton ring. Sweden, c. 1972.

Anton Michelsen Enamel Scandinavian necklaceComing soon – Anton Michelsen necklace. Denmark, c. 1965.

Theresia Hvorslev Vintage Swedish Scandinavian Necklace

New: Theresia Hvorslev pendant. Sweden c. 1975.

New this week is the above necklace by Atelje Stigbert of Sweden, c. 1970. The piece literally shines when worn – all the little dishes reflect the light beautifully. I love how modular it is as well as its subtle asymmetry. More details on Hopea.

I was certainly having some fun Instagramming the above Elis Kauppi ring – gold and smokey quartz are very photogenic! Not to say that the ring isn’t also stunning in real life. In my mind, it is the ultimate cocktail ring. It was quickly snatched up by a lucky buyer, but I can still fawn over it here.

Working on a big site update at the moment. Stock’s currently running a little dry from the Inform Interiors show, but keep checking back in the next few weeks as I’ll be posting some exciting new pieces, including the following Guy Vidal bangle.
